History of Dorothy’s Florist

In 1966 Dorothy Hillcove founded Dorothy’s Florist in Scottburgh on the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal about 60 kilometres south of Durban. In the same year she joined Interflora as a member and a judge.

Flowers were sent from Durban to Scottburgh and often ended up in Margate a further 60 kms down the coast! In contrast, today flowers are delivered daily to have fresh flowers available at all times.

Dorothy’s Florist has been operating from the same premises for more than half a century. The high standards of floral products set by Dorothy so many years ago, is still evident today. This has been the reason why Dorothy’s Florist has become a household name both locally, nationally and abroad.
